Opponent Scouting Library

This week’s tip of the week shows how our “Opponent Scouting Library”, together with Dartfish TV allows coaches to quickly review an opponent players video to generate their own game planning documents.

The process is simple, if you are subscribed to Softball Scouting library, your coaching staff has access to any players video in the 700 plus game library without using any staff resources to chart opponent games.

After you log in to your Dartfish TV channel, you simply search and create a video playlist on any player in the database. (for example create a video playlist on the pitcher or hitters you will be facing). Note: Additional pitch information can be added to the filters, such as all the first pitches, or all pitches where the ball was put in play.

Step1: Log onto your opponent scouting library subscription. You will see the Softball Scouting Channel as one of your subscribed channels. The Softball Scouting channel, contains over 700 games with 25-30 games being added each week during the 2022 season.

Step2A Scouting Pitchers: After logging in to Dartfish TV, the entire keyword database is available for coaches to search and filter on the pitcher’s name and first pitches thrown to each hitter they faced. The system creates a video playlist based based on these filters.

Below shows the video playlist on all the first pitches thrown by the opponent pitcher you will be facing.  Coaches can view, and analyze the pitcher's first pitch tendencies from any internet connected device ( Office computer or mobile device) creating their own game planning document.

An additional benefit to their game planning processes is how easy it is for coaches to prepare their hitters by sharing the video playlist with their hitters in either a  team meeting, zoom meeting or individually to the hitter's mobile device.

Step 2B Scouting Hitters: After logging in to Dartfish TV, the entire keyword database is available for coaches to search and filter on the hitter's name when they have put the ball in play. The system creates a video playlist based on the filters.

Below shows the video playlist on all the pitches thrown to the opponent hitter where they put the ball in play.  Coaches can view, and analyze the hitter's swing tendencies from any internet connected device ( Office computer or mobile device) creating their own game planning document.
